Neuromodulation Coaching for Educators

Image
Neuromodulation coaching for educator wellness Educator stress and wellbeing is increasing as top-down departmental demands and administrative tasks build up never mind the day-to-day facilitation of classes that in some cases exceed 50 plus learners who all exclusively demand the teacher’s attention simultaneously. In general, the experience and challenge of a lack of discipline curtails any hopes of achieving the learning objectives in time. However, this is the expected and accepted norm in most school settings, and completely dehumanises the teacher’s experience. CPD courses are available and are recursive resources underpinned by the broader curriculum which teachers are bound to know. Is it any wonder that teachers are fed up, exhausted and reconsidering their choice of occupation? I care deeply about the wellbeing of my fellow educators and have subsequently made it my mission to learn as much as I can to know more about how to facilitate the improvement of life satisfaction amo...

Responsibility versus Independence.

Responsibility versus Independence Jade Chessman (Med Ed Psych & Neuromodulation Coach) Engaging in activities that inspire subjective notions of meaning and purpose is the key to elevating your motivation to live fully and well. Every human being has the desire to live a life full of everything that is subjectively good. Today as I was listening to Lex Fridman’s podcast with Ben Shapiro, the words of this sentence caught my attention, “you need to find meaning and purpose in forming connections that actually matter in a belief system that actually promotes general prosperity and promotes helping other people”. So, we need to start forming connections because that’s where we’ll discover our meaning and purpose. The immediate concept that comes to mind is community. Another aspect of this viewpoint that was brought to my attention is being a part of a belief system that supports a life of thriving and generosity. In other words, we must establish meaningful connections with the...

Connect to your Inner Teacher

Connect to your Inner Teacher Jade Chessman (Med Ed Psych & Neuromodulation Coach) I went to a talk last night by Dr. Zach Bush who eloquently laid out the very difficult truths that people are either in denial about or too heartbroken over to take any action. There are many of us who want to be at the front lines of transformation although being there is crushingly overwhelming purely because of the scale at which change needs to happen. The most intriguing truth brought to light was the failure of humanity to stand up for and with nature. In other words, there is a deep and dark disconnect between our own nature and nature in general, and this has created a painful wound. A wound that we are, unfortunately, treating with all the things we have been conditioned to believe are helping us. These things are in fact only reinforcing the wound, and we accept this because what other option do we have? The good news is that there is another way forward because if you just simply tak...

Systems Transformation - conditioned to healed.

Systems Transformation - conditioned to healed. Jade Chessman (Med Ed Psych & Neuromodulation Coach) Every single life journey endures cycles of learning and healing and this is a good thing because the alternative would leave us stagnant and eventually desperate for more. Unfortunately, learning in our mainstream education systems has become stagnant and desperate pointing to the fact that our education systems are not changing and meeting our new needs. The reality is that education has not changed since the beginning of the industrial revolution when systems were established and implemented for the learning of basic arithmetic and language acquisition. Now, obviously, that has changed A LOT because we have a much broader curriculum inclusive of a range of subjects and activities. What has not changed is the fact that teachers experience undue pressure and stress because of this ‘improvement in the curriculum’. An example of this can be found in my own experience. At an interview...
